The Indian Institute of Education organizes 2 Day National Conference for Skill Development of Persons with Disabilities

Pune,3rd February 2020: Indian Institute of Education,Pune in collaboration with Skill Development Centre, SPPU, Pune, Access Rights Mission,Mumbai,TISS, Mumbai and Inclusive Divyangjan Entrepreneur Association(IDEA),New Delhi had organized 2 day national conference for Skill Development,Empowerment and Livelihood of Persons with Disabilities. The conference was supported by National Skill Development Corporation,New Delhi.The conference was inaugurated and The book “Governance of Public Health Response to HIV/AIDS in india” by Author Prof.Manoj Khar was released at the hands of Dr.Nitin Karmalkar,Vice Chancellor SPPU. Prof.Chandrashekhar Chitale, Director Skill Development Centre, SPPU, Prerna Deshbhrate, Commissioner PWD, Dr.Prakash Salavi, Director General IIE, Prof.Manoj Kar,Head Organizing Committee, Dr. Sanjaya Pradhan, Lead affirmative action Head, National Skill Development Corporation(NSDC) were present on the occasion. The two-day conference covered important technical and conceptual sessions involving experts, activists, educators, practitioners, corporate and higher government officials in the field of skills and disability.

The 2 day conference had various consultation themes which included Situation Assessment of Skill Development, Livelihood and Empowerment, Government Initiatives on Skill Development of Persons with disabilities(PwDs),Sharing of Best Practices in Business development programs, Corporate or NGOs Initiatives on Skill Development, Multi-sectoral Partnership on Addressing Cross-cutting Policies and Programmes and Strategy Development on Skill Building and Empowerment for the target Geography.

Dr. Sanjaya Pradhan shared the national perspective of NSDC on the occasion. Prof. Manoj Kar gave welcome address and presented the role of organizing the conference. Dr. Prakash Salavi gave vote of thanks. The conference was attended by experts, academics, government officials in the field of skill development and disability.
