Mumbai, April 29, 2016 : The management of water  and waste management are crucial factors and  there is a need to maximise the recharge and control extraction of ground water said Dr Anil Kakodkar, former Chairman Atomic Energy Commission, Secretary Department of Atomic Energy.

He was addressing at the inauguration of a National Workshop and Exhibition on “DAE Clean Technologies”, organised by the Department of Atomic Energy’s Swachhta Pakhwada, today at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in Mumbai. As a part of Swacch Bharat Mission, DAE is, has been observing Swachhta Pakhwada between April 18 to May 02.

We must take up a challenge of minimise the waste water, treating and recycling it, appealed Dr. Kakodkar. There are various technologies available in waste management, even on industrial levels, we should have right mindset for accepting new technologies he added.

Clean technologies developed by Department of Atomic energy like hygienesation of sewage sludge, NISAGRUNA plant and Plazma technologies are the centre of clean India mission Dr. Kakodkar further said. We Need to maximise recharge and control extraction of ground water, Dr. Kakodkar added.  On this occasion Dr. Kakodkar also released a souvenir on DAE Clean Technologies.

The event also saw the participation of non-DAE members, education sector, NGO’s and others.
