Tikona Fort Rescue: Shivdurg Team Safely Evacuates Three Stranded Tourists
Pune, 3rd October 2026: Three tourists who were stranded at Tikona Fort in Maval taluka were safely rescued by the Shivdurg Rescue Team after a late-night operation, officials said.
The Shivdurg Rescue Team received information late on Friday that three people had become stranded at the fort. The team immediately launched a search and rescue operation.
During the operation, two of the stranded people were located. However, one of them had moved further into the fort, making the search difficult. The rescue team realised that he was still on the fort after hearing his voice.
As the team approached to assist him, the man allegedly threw stones towards the rescuers. Despite the challenging circumstances, the rescue team remained patient and continued the search.
The team eventually located the man and safely brought him down from the fort.
The three stranded persons were identified as Babul Jitendra Kajde, Jiten Markha and Babu Mardesai, all reportedly from Madhya Pradesh. They were accompanied by Virendra Margav, Mukesh and Rakesh Jambhekar.
Members of the Shivdurg Rescue Team, including Sujit Mohol, Ramesh Kumbhar and Ganesh Sanas, participated in the rescue operation.
The operation was successfully completed and all the stranded persons were brought down safely.
