Tinder friend cheats woman of Rs 8.66 lakhs
Pune, August 28, 2019 : A 36-year-old man has been arrested by Pune city police Crime Branch for allegedly cheating a woman, whom he had met through adult dating app Tinder.
According to police, the accused Nitin Surendra Bhandari of Koregaon Park and the 41-year-old woman were in relationship for about three years. She is a divorcee. After they met through Tinder app, the Bhandari allegedly promised to marry her. They also had physical relations.
The woman is an entrepreneur and runs several businesses. Whenever Bhandari used to come to meet, he used to hire luxurious vehicles to impress her. Later he sought her help saying he has suffered losses in business. The woman had given him Rs 8.66 lakhs. However, he failed to return the amount when she required.
When she insisted for the amount, Bhandari allegedly beat her up and also threatened her of dire consequences. She also found out that he is unemployed and cheated her all these years. After she lodged an FIR, Crime Branch officials arrested Bhandari.
