Pune, 3rd January 2026: The prestigious Poona Club Golf Course is set to host India’s golfing elite this weekend as the 6th edition of the Nirmayan Pro-Am Charity Golf Tournament takes place on January 10, 2026.

Distinguished as India’s only Pro-Am charity golf tournament, the event brings together the country’s leading professionals and amateur players to compete for a cause. This year’s star-studded lineup features some of Indian golf’s biggest names, including Anirban Lahiri, Shiv Kapur, Shubhankar Sharma, and S.S.P. Chaurasiya. Pune-based Olympian Udayan Mane will also feature prominently on his home turf.

Organized by professional golfer Rajiv Datar, the tournament was instituted in 2015 in memory of his grandparents, acclaimed educationists Mrs. Nirmala Datar and Mr. Narayan Datar. Since its inception, the event has successfully blended the spirit of sportsmanship with philanthropy.

Continuing its long-standing partnership with the non-profit organization Mudita – An Alliance for Giving, the tournament directs its proceeds toward education. Funds raised will provide STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) scholarships to meritorious students from low-income families across Maharashtra.

According to the organizers, the collaboration between Nirmayan and Mudita—founded by Katyayani Balasubramanian and Ripple Mirchandani—has already made a significant impact. Over the past four years, the initiative has supported more than 250 annual scholarships in fields such as nursing, engineering, and allied sciences.

As the professionals team up with amateurs this Saturday, the focus remains firmly on creating a lasting impact both on and off the course.
