Toyota Temporarily Halts Bookings for Robust MPV a Month After Launch: Know the Reason

Pune, 20th May 2024 – Toyota, the renowned Japanese automotive manufacturer, has once again halted bookings for its latest Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV), the Innova Hycross, just a month after its launch. The temporary suspension of bookings applies specifically to the Hybrid variant’s top trims, ZX and ZX (O). The decision has left many potential buyers curious about the reasons behind this move. While Toyota reopened bookings for the Innova Hycross in April, the current pause affects only these two high-end variants.

Toyota’s decision to halt bookings for the top trims of the Innova Hycross Hybrid comes after a brief period of accepting orders, leaving customers puzzled about the sudden change in strategy. While the company has not explicitly stated the reason for this pause, it’s speculated to be related to production constraints or adjustments in inventory management. As per the information available on Toyota’s website, other variants of the Innova Hycross Hybrid are still open for booking. However, potential buyers might need to exercise patience, with an estimated waiting period of around 14 months for delivery after placing an order.

Despite the pause in bookings for certain variants, Toyota continues to showcase the impressive features of its Innova Hycross Hybrid. Equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, front-ventilated seats, a wireless charger, and a panoramic sunroof, the MPV promises a luxurious and technologically advanced driving experience. These features aim to appeal to customers seeking comfort, convenience, and modernity in their vehicles.

In terms of pricing, the Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid comes with an ex-showroom price ranging from Rs. 18.92 lakh for the base variant to Rs. 30.98 lakh for the top variant. However, for the ZX and ZX (O) trims, for which bookings are temporarily halted, the ex-showroom price falls between Rs. 30.34 lakh and Rs. 30.98 lakh. This pricing strategy positions the Innova Hycross as a competitive offering in the MPV segment, catering to diverse customer preferences and budget considerations.
