Truck Overturns Near On Pune-Bengaluru Highway Near Katraj Tunnel, Traffic Movement Impacted
Pune 16th Sept 2023: A truck carrying dry fruits was overturned near Katraj Tunnel on the Pune- Bengaluru highway earlier today. Though no major injuries or casualty was reported in the incident. The accident led to heavy traffic jams on the road towards Bengaluru for some time. The local traffic police who rushed to the spot ensured that the vehicular movement was resumed to avoid further inconvenience to the commuters.
The accident was reported at around 10:30 am on Saturday morning. The truck was overturned due to the possibility of break failure. The truck driver who is said to have applied a handbrake to stop the vehicle also hit another truck on the road. As a result, the truck had blocked the complete road towards bengaluru resulting in the closure of traffic movement. The vehicles were piled up on the highway for some time.
However, the rescue teams that rushed to the spot removed the truck using a crane machine and the vehicular movement was resumed. According to police, another truck that was hit in the accident was also overturned and the drivers of both trucks sustained minor injuries.
