Two Critical After Skoda Rams Divider on Mumbai-Pune Expressway Near Kamshet

Pune, 20th May 2026: Three persons were injured, two of them seriously, after a Skoda car crashed into a divider on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway near Bour village in the limits of Kamshet police station on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, the accident took place around 3 pm near kilometre marker 75.200 on the Mumbai-to-Pune carriageway of the expressway.

Officials from the Wadgaon police unit, including API Avasarmol, PSI Shinde and other personnel, rushed to the spot shortly after receiving information about the accident.

Police said the Skoda car (MH 12 PH 7427) was travelling towards Pune when the driver allegedly lost control over the vehicle, causing it to ram into the divider.

The injured have been identified as driver Jaydeep Ghode (61), Kishan Uttam Chandane (75), and Sanjay Mewala (61), all residents of Palm Spring Society on NIBM Road in Undri, Pune.

Police said Ghode and Chandane sustained serious injuries, while Mewala, who was seated in the rear seat, suffered minor injuries. All three were shifted to Pavana Hospital for treatment.

The damaged vehicle was later removed from the road and traffic movement on the expressway was restored to normal, officials said. Local police have been informed and further action is underway.
