Two Youths Killed in Road Accident on Old Mumbai-Pune Highway Near Lonavala
Kamshet, 3rd July 2025: In a fatal accident on the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway near Kamshet Ghat in Maval taluka, two youths lost their lives after a pickup truck rammed into them. The incident occurred when their vehicle slipped, hit a divider, and threw them onto the road, where the truck fatally struck them.
The deceased have been identified as Akash Jaylal Chaudhary (19), a resident of Warje, and Prajwal Dnyaneshwar Saraf (23), a resident of Hadapsar. According to police, both were heading toward Mumbai when the accident took place.
The pickup truck, allegedly driven recklessly, hit the duo moments after they fell onto the road. The truck driver, Pradeep Mukund Patil (44), a resident of Dighi and native of Buldhana, has had a case registered against him at Kamshet Police Station.
Rishabh Vinod Hiwale (23), a resident of Vadgaon Maval, filed the complaint. The Kamshet Police have begun an investigation and registered the case under relevant sections.
