UGC NET December 2024 Results Expected By February 21

New Delhi, 19th February 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to announce the results of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) December 2024 session by February 21, 2025.
Candidates who appeared for the examination, conducted from January 3 to January 27, 2025, are eagerly awaiting their scores, which will determine their eligibility for Assistant Professorship and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) positions in Indian universities and colleges.
The UGC NET December 2024 examination saw participation from over 6,49,490 candidates across 284 cities, with an overall attendance rate of 76.5 percent. The exam, which covered 85 subjects, was conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode over multiple dates to accommodate the large number of aspirants.
A source close to the NTA told The Indian Express, “The UGC NET December 2024 results will be out by Friday, February 21.” Once released, candidates will be able to access their scorecards on the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in, using their application number, date of birth, and security pin.
The provisional answer keys for the examination were released on January 31, 2025, with candidates given the opportunity to raise objections until February 3, 2025. The NTA is currently in the process of reviewing these objections and finalizing the answer keys, which will form the basis for the result compilation.
For candidates to qualify for Assistant Professorship, they must score within the top 6 percent of performers in their respective subjects. The JRF qualification is even more competitive, with only the top 1-2 percent of performers eligible for the fellowship.
The UGC NET is a crucial examination for aspiring academicians and researchers in India. It is conducted twice a year, in June and December, to determine eligibility for college and university level teaching positions and research fellowships.
As the result declaration date approaches, candidates are advised to keep a close watch on the official UGC NET website for any updates or announcements. The NTA has stated that the records of the UGC NET December 2024 examination will be preserved for 90 days from the date of result declaration, and there will be no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of the results.
