Universal Sompo General Insurance Co. Ltd. and Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Welfare Foundation with TRAX had together announced Road Safety Ranger 2.0 project

Mumbai, 2nd March 2020: Universal Sompo General Insurance Co. Ltd., Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Welfare Foundation and TRAX in association with The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Education Department had undertaken the Road Safety Program Rangers 2.0.

As per the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) nearly 1,51,417 crashes were reported in 2018.

To bring out the effective change in the safety of our roads, there is a need to consciously change our attitudes towards providing safer roads- not just for ourselves or for young people, but for everyone. This underlines the urgency for adopting various road safety measures. With Road Safety Program Rangers 2.0, the Company intends to make a start with the youngest crowd. After success of Road Safety Program Rangers 1.0, the Company now has undertaken the Safety Program Rangers 2.0. with the participation of young crowd from colleges like Thakur College of science and commerce, Vivekanand Education Society’s College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Vidyalankar School of Information Technology, Bhavan’s College and K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research.

The function was inaugurated by Mr. Samir Birje, Project Head, Western India – TRAX , Mr. Anurag Kulshrestha President , TRAX, Mr. Bisheshwari Singh, CMO, Universal Sompo General Insurance Co. Ltd, Mr. Keita Hashiba, General Manager, Sompo Japan India and Mr. Atish Aggarwal, Project Manager, TRAX.

Mr. Bisheshwari Singh, CMO, Universal Sompo General Insurance Co. Ltd commented that, “We are happy to launch the chapter 2.0 of Road Safety Rangers the purpose of this initiative is to create Safe School Zone near selected schools as every student deserves the safe journey and also the Road Safety Awareness undertaken by the School for further development which may lead to awareness of3r.” Further Mr. Keita Hashiba, Dy.CEO, Universal Sompo General Insurance Co. Ltd also commented that Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance is a largest Insurance Company in Japan and has presence in many countries. He was very happy to know about the activities carried out by the Trax for F.Y. 2018-19 was successful and has enhanced the branding of the Company.

Mr. Anurag Kulshrestha President, TRAX mentioned that for the F.Y. 2020 -21, the campaign will be conducted in three modes i.e. Training of Teachers by conducting various activities during their free classes or during the assembly. Developing Safe School Zone and Developing Road Safety Culture. Our goal is to inculcate road safety values and developing road safety culture through training, participation and infrastructural changes.

We have put all our efforts to accomplish “Road Safety Ranger 2.0” as successful as Road Safety Rangers 1.0, through conducting above mentioned activities.
