UNVEILING OF THE 75 YEARS LOGO AND THEME, AT THE NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY

Khadakwasla, 19th January 2023: On the occasion of the National Defence Academy (NDA) completing ‘75 Glorious Years’ of its existence on 16 January 2024, year-long commemorative activities to highlight its achievements in various spheres will be conducted from 16 January 2023 to 16 January 2024.

These activities will be a befitting tribute to the visionary founders of the Academy and also honour the sacrifices of its alumni and their efforts to safe guard our Nation. Some of these important activities include seminar on leadership, several hikes and excursions, sailing expedition, river rafting, cross-country flying on Super Dimona aircraft, car rally, sports meet and marathon.

The first in the sequence of these activities, i.e. unveiling of the 75 years logo and theme, was conducted at the National Defence Academy on 19 January. Air Marshal BR Krishna PVSM, AVSM, SC, ADC, the Chief of the Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee presided over the event and unveiled the 75 years logo and the theme. The 75 years logo of the National Defence Academy reflects the unique Tri-Services character and ethos of this Glorious Institution, aptly symbolised by the colours of the three Services. The theme for commemoration of the 75 Glorious Years is “Forging Joint Military Leadership”. This theme accentuates the very essence of National Defence Academy as a Tri-Services Training Academy.

During the period of its self-less service to the Nation, the NDA has trained more than 38000 cadets, including over 1000 cadets from 32 Friendly Foreign Countries and made them into dynamic Military Leaders and scholar warriors. The Academy has also given the country two Chiefs of Defence Staff and several of its Service Chiefs. The alumni of this glorious Academy have made the nation proud by achieving a mark for the country and themselves in numerous fields and continue to excel in the Armed Forces.
