Pune, 13th October 2025: The Indian motorcycle market is buzzing with news that Bajaj Auto could soon introduce new models in the 125cc and 150cc categories. While official confirmation is still pending, recent statements from Bajaj’s Executive Director hint at new product launches in these segments. In this blog, we analyse the details and help you understand what these upcoming bikes could be, and why you should also consider essential protections like third-party bike insurance to safeguard your ride.

New Bajaj 125cc Bike: What to Expect?

In a recent media interview, Bajaj’s Executive Director Rakesh Sharma stated that the company has a strong pipeline of new products in the 125cc and sportier 150cc/160cc+ segments. While no official model names were disclosed, market analysis suggests that the new 125cc bike could be a reintroduction of one of its popular 125cc models, probably under the CT125X, Platina 125, or the Discover brand.

Sales Data and Market Strategy

According to SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers), Bajaj sold around 63,698 units in the 125cc segment, while the Platina series clocked a much higher 4,38,740 units overall in FY24-25. This indicates that the Platina range is highly popular, and Bajaj might aim to further capitalise on this with an affordable 125cc model.

Launching a Platina 125 would help Bajaj compete effectively in the commuter bike segment, particularly against models like the Honda Shine 125. If priced at around Rs. 80,000 (ex-showroom), the Platina 125 could offer a strong value proposition for budget-conscious buyers.

This new bike would join Bajaj’s existing 125cc lineup, which includes:

  • Pulsar 125
  • NS125
  • N125
  • Freedom 125 CNG

New Bajaj 150-160cc Bike: What’s in Store?

In the sportier category, Bajaj might launch a new 150-160cc bike, speculated to be the Pulsar NS150. The NS family currently includes 125cc, 160cc, 200cc, and 400cc models, while the N family covers 125cc, 150cc, 160cc, and 250cc segments. This leaves a gap for a 150cc NS model, which could be filled by the NS150.

Design and Engine Expectations

Though details are speculative, the Pulsar NS150 is expected to follow the design of the NS125, possibly equipped with an air-cooled 150cc engine. It may be priced about Rs. 5,000 higher than the Pulsar N150, which currently retails at Rs. 1,17,677 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Launch Timeline and Pricing Insights

The new 125cc bike, likely the Platina 125, will be launched by the end of the current financial year or in early March 2026. Following that, the 150-160cc motorcycle, possibly the Pulsar NS150, could be introduced around June 2026.

This phased launch strategy allows Bajaj to offer more choices within the same engine category, catering to different rider preferences and budgets.

Insurance Tips for New Bike Owners

As you prepare to buy these new bikes, don’t forget about protecting your two-wheeler. Having valid insurance is mandatory and wise.

Third-party bike insurance covers damages or injuries caused to others. It is the minimum legal requirement in India.

With comprehensive two-wheeler insurance, you gain coverage for theft, total loss, damage due to accidents and natural disasters, and third-party liabilities.

Conclusion

Bajaj Auto’s potential entry with new 125cc and 150cc bikes promises more variety and flexibility for Indian riders. While official details are yet to emerge, the Platina 125 and Pulsar NS150 could become valuable additions to Bajaj’s already strong lineup. As you plan your next bike purchase, make sure you are also considering your insurance options. Opting for comprehensive two-wheeler insurance ensures complete protection.

Stay tuned for official announcements and be ready to explore these new models when they hit the market.
