Upcoming EVs: Maruti, Mahindra, and Hyundai Set to Launch Affordable Electric Cars
Pune, March 26, 2024 – Amidst surging demand for electric vehicles (EVs) in India, major automakers including, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, and Hyundai are gearing up to introduce affordable EVs. Maruti Suzuki is set to unveil the eVX, Mahindra will launch the XUV3OO EV, and Hyundai is preparing to debut the Exter EV. These vehicles promise impressive features and competitive pricing, heralding a new era in the Indian automotive market.
The Maruti Suzuki eVX is anticipated to debut later this year, boasting a mid-size electric SUV design with dual batteries and front-wheel-drive (FWD) or all-wheel-drive (AWD) configuration. It’s expected to offer a claimed range of over 500 km. Mahindra’s offering, the XUV3OO EV, will likely share its drivetrain with the XUV4OO and is poised to rival Tata Nexon EV, with competitive pricing and specifications aligned with its gasoline counterpart. Hyundai’s Exter EV, following the footsteps of Tata, is expected to leverage technology from its Casper EV in South Korea, potentially featuring a 40 kWh battery pack and a range of 300-350 km. The launch is anticipated within the next two years, adding to the expanding options in India’s burgeoning EV market.
