Varanasi, January 10, 2021: A former BJP MLA was beaten up and was demanded to ask for forgiveness by holding his ears on charges of inappropriate behaviour in Varanasi. The video related to this is going viral.

This case is of Bhagatua village of Chaubepur Police Station area of ​​Varanasi. Maya Shankar Pathak, the chairman of an inter college and former BJP MLA, was accused by a student of inappropriate behaviour.

Her family was aggravated upon receiving information about the allegations of the victim. The family beat up former BJP MLA Maya Shankar Pathak in the college and also made a video of it. The Varanasi police are investigating this matter.

Maya Shankar Pathak was once a BJP MLA in Varanasi and is now running Inter College Bhagatua village under the name of MP Institute and Computer College. Allegedly, the former BJP MLA and school chairman Maya Shankar Pathak called her in his office and indulged in improper behaviour with a student.

After this, the girl reached home and told her family members, who rushed to the school and first beat Maya Shankar Pathak in his office and then beat him up by sitting on a chair outside in the ground. During the beating, the former BJP MLA is seen repeatedly apologizing for his mistake.

Although neither of the two sides complained to the police, due to the viral video morphing this case into a high profile issue, the police have taken cognizance of the case and started investigating it.

Maya Shankar Pathak won elections in 1991 from Chiragaon assembly constituency of Varanasi on a BJP ticket.
