It was an evening of laurels, awards, dance and music at the 3rd UXPlorer 2016 Awards, which is a design competition for students from top design schools in India, held on 9th September 2016 at Residency Club, on the occasion of completion of 7 glorious years of YUJ Designs.

YUJ Designs are in the business of providing User Experience (UX) Design solutions for software products. Headquartered in Pune on Law college road, YUJ Designs has an operating office in Sunnyvale, California US as well.

“Every year we run a design competition for students who are a part of leading Design schools in India. The top 3 winners get a cash prize of up to Rs.1,00,000. We also fund their ideas later giving them an opportunity to join YUJ Designs as an employee. It is a platform to create elegant, human-centred product ideas”, said a beaming Samir Chabukswar, CEO, YUJ Designs.

Out of an overwhelming response of nearly 80 entries received, the top 4 students (there was a tie amongst 2 students, so 4 awards were presented this year, instead of 3), that bagged the prestigious awards were :

·        Pratik Bhandari from DJ Academy, Coimbatore, bagged the ‘Gold’ Award for his ‘Smart I’ app

·        Shashank Arya, IIT Kanpur, bagged the ‘Silver’ Award for his ‘Glass’ app

·        Charmie Kapoor, IIT Guwahati bagged the ‘Bronze’ Award for her ‘Circular Ticket’ App

·        Sagar Kathrani, MITID, Pune bagged the ‘Bronze’ Award for his ‘Bookloop’ App

That’s not all – YUJ Designs also applauded the efforts of their exemplary employees, honouring the teams & individuals with unique titles, such as Resilient, Camarderie, Persistence & Perseverance, Veteran and Most Valuable Talent.

“On the face of it, we are a motley bunch of people. The skills we bring to the table are just the beginning of our diversity. From folks experienced in high end design consulting that pushes our clients to do better in their markets to those who craft detailed design to execution excellence. The common thread that keeps us all connected is the way we think and approach life. Constantly pushing ourselves and each other to be better ourselves. We believe we are our own competition. Where each of us is today, is a milestone we are crossing, individually and collectively”, said Prasadd Bartakke, Chief of Experience Design, YUJ Designs.

The fun part of the evening was dance performances by the employees – bhangra, lavani and even the top-of-the-charts ‘kala chashmah’ number, besides a melodious duet rendered of the favourite ‘Abhi Na Jao’ number.
