Pune: PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh Applauds Social Media Influencers at Vibrant Pimpri Chinchwad Awards
Pimpri Chinchwad, 9th August 2024: To celebrate the vibrant city of Pimpri Chinchwad and honour social media influencers who contribute to its greatness, an award function was organized by Punekar News in association with the Punit Balan Group.
Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Commissioner Shekhar Singh was the chief guest, accompanied by Additional Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad Police Vasant Pardeshi. Punit Balan, President of the Punit Balan Group, was present as the guest of honour. Punekar News Founders Amit Singh and Mubarak Ansari, as well as Consulting Editor Tikam Shekhawat, were also present.
A total of 21 influencers from the Pimpri Chinchwad City were recognized for their contributions in creating content about, in, for, and with the city. The awardees included Bhupendra Singh Rathore, Vaishali Patil, Sarita Padman, Nadeem Shaikh, Tarun Wadhwani, Amol Deshpande, Pooja Rathore, Roshan Bhagwan Patil, Nitin Kirtane, Ajit Sail, Dr. Sudheer Rai, Dinesh Pawar, Ram Gomare, Prachi Dhabal Deb, Shubhankar Sonawani, Snehal Puri, Japneet Kohli, Sarita Patil, Dr. Kavita Rao, and Nadeem Ahmed.
PCMC Commissioner Singh, Additional Commissioner of Police Pardeshi and Balan felicitated the awardees.
Speaking on this occasion, PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh said, “Vibrant Pimpri Chinchwad by Punekar News is a commendable initiative. Pimpri Chinchwad has always been vibrant, young, and dynamic. Being part of one of the most progressive organizations in India, I feel very proud to be the commissioner of PCMC. Pimpri Chinchwad residents compare their city to Tokyo, New York, and other global cities and question why their city doesn’t have certain features.”
Municipal Commissioner Singh further said, “Social media provides a valuable platform for understanding the pulse of the people. One thing that has become clear to me is that the citizens of Pimpri Chinchwad, compared to the last 20 years, have become more questioning. This is beneficial for the administration, as it keeps us on our toes. Social media has played a significant role in this change.”
Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi stated, “Pimpri Chinchwad has become a prime city, and development is happening very quickly. Under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey, we are doing our best to make Pimpri Chinchwad a crime-free city. Social media directly or indirectly influences our opinions and has become a very important medium.”
Guest of Honor Punit Balan said, “Social media embodies the idea that ‘any publicity is good publicity.’ Although I live in Pune, I frequently visit Pimpri Chinchwad. Not only is Pimpri Chinchwad a great city in Pune, but it is also one of the best cities in the world. PCMC holds many sports events under its jurisdiction, and the creation of Olympic-level stadiums by PCMC will certainly benefit future sports prospects.
