Viman Nagar: Pune Crime Branch Arrests Two Persons With 37 Kg Ganja

Pune, November 21, 2020: The Crime Branch Unit 1 of Pune City Police today arrested two persons and seized 37 kgs of ganja (marijuana) worth Rs 9.5 lakhs from their possession during patrolling in Viman Nagar.

The arrested persons have been identified as Ravindra Yosef Adhav (23) and Gorakshnath Laxman Dahatonde (41), both residents of Nevasa in Ahmednagar district. They were travelling in a car when Police Naik Sachin Jadhav received a tip-off about the narcotics smuggling.

Accordingly, the duo was caught near the gate of Cummins company. The accused had put the sticker of ‘PRESS’ on the front and rear glasses of the car to avoid being caught by police. They were arrested earlier by Sonai police station in Ahmednagar for illegally selling liquor.

The action was taken under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ashok Morale, DCP (Crime) Bachchan Singh and ACP Surendra Deshmukh. The police team included Senior Police Inspector Sunil Takawle, Police Sub Inspectors Sanjay Gaikwad, Hanumant Shinde, Sunil Kulkarni and police personnel Sachin Jadhav, Imran Shaikh, Prashant Gaikwad, Mahesh Bamgude, Ayyaz Waddikar and Tushar Malwadkar.
