VINDU DARA SINGH INTRODUCES 1ST COMIC ISSUE “EPIC JOURNEY OF THE GREAT DARA SINGH”
23 DEC 2018 : The heroic exploits of first ever “Super Hero” Late Dara Singh, in the ring and outside it, has come in a graphic avatar as a comic book series. The comic is based on the wrestling icon’s life. The project is helmed by his son Vindu Dara Singh, and the series was launched at Comic Con Mumbai on 22nd of December, 2018.
Raju Srivastav, Naved Jaffri, Shaad Randhawa, Salma Agha, Zara Khan, George Emmanual , Calib, Mahrukh Mirza, and many more celebs were present to wish the comic series success.
Vindu Dara Singh said “The book will present my father Dara Singh as the real life superhero, who was a world wrestling champion and an inspiration to everyone. Right from his brand of raw, overpowering aggression inside the wrestling ring to his discipline and humility outside it, the aim is to present the lesser known side of the Rustom-e-Hind to the world. I hope you like it, love it & support it”
Naved Jafri said “When we grew up we slowly realized what a great man he was. His son Vindu Dara Singh is a great friend of ours & we are all here for him & Dara Uncle”
Shaad Randhawa said “Thank you all for coming. Dara ji was a legend. Not only he was a star but a great human being too. I used to call him bada daddy so very politely once i asked him ‘ you are strongest person in the world to which he replied – no there are many stronger people than me but the strength comes from within”
Salma Agha said “Today is such a occasion that entire India will be proud of as we are known to the world because of him in the world of wrestling and also in Bollywood”
World Wrestling Champion & Iron man of Indian Cinema Dara Singh, defeated some of the fiercest contemporaries of his time and gained fame globally . The biographical comic book will focus on some of the lesser known facts about his childhood, his first stint in “pehalwani” and later years. The comic book would motivate youth and children on how to exercise, proper diet, and valuable tips to keep the body fit and fine
The brain behind the comic book is Graphic artist George Emmanual along with Calib on the creative side and Mahrukh Mirza who has written the story and dialogues. The book is released in volumes and the illustration will be done in photorealistic technique, encompassing paintings, drawing and other graphic media.
