Vishranti Hospital Launches Free Cancer Treatment Scheme for Underprivileged Children
Bhawani Peth, 4th July 2026 : In a significant step towards making cancer care accessible to children from economically weaker sections, Vishranti Hospital in Bhawani Peth has launched a free pediatric cancer treatment assistance scheme. The initiative aims to ensure that no child is deprived of life-saving treatment due to financial constraints by providing comprehensive cancer care at no cost to eligible patients.
The hospital announced that the scheme will offer free consultations with experienced pediatricians and oncologists, free medicines, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy for children diagnosed with cancer. In addition, patients and their families will receive medical guidance and counselling throughout the treatment process to help them navigate the challenges associated with long-term cancer care.
According to the hospital, thousands of children in India are diagnosed with various forms of cancer every year. While early diagnosis and timely treatment can significantly improve survival rates, the high cost of medicines and prolonged treatment often prevents economically disadvantaged families from completing the required course of care. The new initiative has been introduced to address this gap and ensure that quality cancer treatment is available to those who need it most.
Vishranti Hospital has previously conducted free treatment programmes for women suffering from breast, ovarian, and cervical cancers, benefiting numerous patients. With the introduction of the pediatric cancer treatment scheme, the hospital has expanded its social healthcare initiatives to support children battling cancer and strengthen its commitment to serving underprivileged communities.
Founder Trustee Colonel N. S. Nyayapati appealed to pediatricians, oncologists, family physicians, government and private hospitals, healthcare institutions, non-governmental organisations, and social workers across Maharashtra to identify financially vulnerable children diagnosed with cancer and help connect them with the scheme. He also urged citizens and parents to spread awareness about the initiative so that more eligible families can avail themselves of the free treatment facilities.
Hospital authorities said the primary objective of the programme is to ensure that no child is denied cancer treatment because of financial hardship. They expressed confidence that with the support of the medical fraternity, social organisations, and the public, the initiative will provide hope and quality healthcare to many more children battling cancer.
