VISIT OF SCHOOL CHILDREN TO AUNDH MILITARY STATION PUNE

Under the aegis of Southern Command, army troops at Aundh Military Station conducted a visit for 450 school children and college students with an aim to expose them to the Indian Army as a way of life rather than a mere profession.  The visit held on 27 Jan 2016 included exposure to training  facilities to include infantry weapon display, demonstration  on slithering and battle drills, visit to unit Quarter Guard and living accommodation of the troops.

The role of Indian Army and an Infantry soldier was highlighted and attention was drawn to the contribution made by the Indian Army towards nation building. Indian Army’s response and contribution during national disasters like Tsunami, earthquakes and floods as also the supreme sacrifice made by our soldiers during various wars was highlighted.

The NCC cadets and school children were spellbound by the outstanding performance of the soldiers discipline and exciting routine of an Infantry Warrior.
