Well Built Structure Competition ( WBSC) awards held in Pune
Pune, 24 December 2019: The Well Built Structure Competition ( WBSC) awards ceremony organised by Builders Association of India ( BAI ) Pune was held at Hotel Sheraton Grand on Friday.
Chief Guest Prataprao G. Pawar Chairman, Sakal Papers Pvt. Ltd , Guest of Honour Sachin Chandra President, All India, BAI, Vikram Kumar (IAS) Commissioner, PMRDA, Pune, Manoj Deshmukh,Chairman BAI-Pune Centre, State Chairman BAI Prakash Pannjwani , Ashok Atkekar,Vice Chairman , Sanjay Apte, Hon.Secretary BAI-Pune Centre, Ajay Gujar Hon.Treasurer, Pradeep Garge, Chairman WBSC & Imm.Past Chairman, Jai Pinjani, Convenor WBSC 2019, amongst others were present on the occasion . BG Shirke Construction Pvt Ltd have been the sole sponsors of the event .
M.B Nambiar , Chairperson Millennium Engineers and Contractors LTD was conferred with BAI-Padmashree B.G Shirke Life Time Achievement Award- Nirman Ratna for his contribution to this field .
A BAI Engieering diary was also released on the occasion.

Chief Guest Prataprao Pawar , Chairman Sakal Papers Pvt ltd said that I have a great respect for this sector. The awards and recognitions give encouragement to do better .
He added that I was instrumental in starting a community college in Kolhapur. It is helpful for workers who otherwise had no opportunities . Infrastructure and Real Sector should think community college for workers in their sector which is a very successful and economical concept . At a time when people go to China to buy furniture, we should start community college for artisans and compete and beat China . We should enhance our productivity and work at a global level. We have talent . We should brainstorm and coordinate and work together .
Pratap Pawar hailed the unity and dignity of the members of BAI .
Vikram Kumar (IAS), Commissioner PMRDA said that the field of construction is changing everyday , use of technology is changing the landscape and timelines getting shorter . It is the responsibility of the contractors to squeeze the time required to complete the project . In developed world 3D printing technology is already used and will become common to other countries also . It will completely change the way we see things . As contractors we should adapt technology and harness new knowledge. I would like to congratulate BAI Pune for such a platform .
Sachin Chandra , All India BAI Chairman , said that the contribution of infrastructure and real estate sectors to GDP is mamoth . There are more than 350 industries with backward and forward linkages to this sector . The target of 5 trillion dollars will only be achieved with successful contribution from real estate and infrastructure sector . He added that even if we are in recession , this is the best time for reinventing ourselves .
Manoj Deshmukh Chairman BAI Pune Center said that BAI Pune center has many first to its credits . It is known for trend setting activities at the ground level. While we are march towards 5 trillion dollars economy our sector has the biggest role to play . We are in the process of preparing a white paper on construction industry .
Pradeep Garge WBSC Chairman gave information about the 23rd year of the competition . Laxman Landge Chairman Jury Panel presented a report of the assessment and selection process .
Jury members consisted of Er Satish Bhujbal , Ar. Raju Mahagaonkar , ErVijay Ghugare, Er. Shriram Mone , Er.Jayant Inamdar , Dr Sameer Shastri , Er. Ramesh Kulkarni , Er. Sunil Bhutkar, Ar. Laxman Thite , Ar. Vivek Dhamanaskar, Er. Shashikant Gujarati , and Er. Laxman Landge Chairman jury panel , co chairman Arun Atre.
Ms Mugdha Karandikar was the master of ceremony while the vote of thanks was delivered by Sanjay Apte , Hon. Secretary BAI Pune .
