What are the apartments, duplexes, and villas?
24 March 2020, Pune- Until recently, most of the rental properties that we were familiar with were apartments. The larger buildings that are divided into tiny boxes which we call apartments, make up a home for many. Their dream was to own a 2BHK or a 3BHK. The picture is changing with time as there are new installations called duplexes and villas which are enjoying the growing popularity.
Are you well aware of all three options here? Frankly, I was only aware of apartments and villas but not the duplexes. To my surprise, I found these duplexes far more charming than the other options. Let me explain to you each of these and their features so that you can pick your favorite!
Apartments
While there are several other options for a home in foreign countries, apartments are our smallest option for a home. An apartment is a small segment of a building having a bedroom, hall and a kitchen with 1-2 baths. As per the number of bedrooms, you call it 1 BHK, 2 BHK, 3 BHK, 4 BHK and so on.
It has been the dream of an average citizen to own one. When the demand for the apartments increased, we saw several skyscrapers standing up at mushroom pace. The number of apartments in Whitefield is far more than what it used to be 10 years before. The ever-increasing population and the demand for property made it an industry that is sure to bring in some profits.
Duplex apartments
Owing to the increase in the number of apartments, builders came up with a new concept of duplex apartments that are a mixed version of an apartment and an independent home. A duplex is a kind of apartment but having 2 separate homes, instead of the apartment, having separate floors but one common wall in between. In short, they are semi-detached from each other.
The duplexes make a sharp upgrade from the apartments but yet not be called a villa. It can also provide a sense of security of having another family, preferably one’s own, nearby. Yet, it provides privacy from each other. These days one can see several duplex apartments in Bangalore that are growing in demand.
These are slightly bigger than the apartments and smaller when compared to the villas. These are not part of a gated community as the villas are but stays within the same confinements as apartments.
Villas
Now, villas are the biggest of the three. Not only is it bigger in size but it also provides bigger freedom to the owners. Villas are independent of each other and are inside a gated community. It also provides security, having common amenities to enjoy and more open space.
Villas also have a proper road right in front of them. At the same time, it feels like living in the feel of because of others nearby and yet separated. But here you may not get enough liberty for too many customization options as you expect.
