Pune, 6th March 2026: Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol on Friday said it would be appropriate to comment on the accident involving Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar only after the final investigation report is released, responding to doubts raised by NCP leader Rohit Pawar.

Mohol made the remarks while speaking to the media during the anniversary celebration of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj memorial located within the premises of the Pune Municipal Corporation. The memorial, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marked its foundation anniversary along with the celebrations of Shiv Jayanti.

‘Investigation Agencies Working as per Protocol’-
When asked about questions raised regarding the accident, Mohol said that multiple aviation investigation agencies are already examining the incident and following established protocols.

He noted that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau are conducting parallel investigations.

“A preliminary report has already been submitted, and it is mandatory to release such a report within one month of an accident. The report actually came earlier than the stipulated period. A detailed inquiry will now be conducted, and it would be appropriate to comment only after the final report is released,” Mohol said.

Responding to questions about the situation in Gulf countries amid ongoing conflict in the region, the minister said the Government of India is closely monitoring developments and taking steps to assist Indian citizens.

He said that after the Pahalgam attack, arrangements were made to bring people back through direct flights wherever possible, and coordination is ongoing with Indian missions abroad.

“In some places airports were shut and the situation was different, but Indian civil aviation authorities and embassies are working together to facilitate the safe return of citizens,” Mohol said.

Thousands Brought Back Safely:
Mohol added that nearly 50,000 people were stranded abroad a few days ago due to the situation, but many of them have already been brought back safely.

He also acknowledged that conflicts in the Gulf region can have an impact on inflation but said the government is making efforts to minimise the economic impact.

Assam Plane Crash Also Under Investigation:
Commenting on a recent aircraft accident in Assam, Mohol said that any such incident is investigated strictly according to established aviation safety protocols.

“Whenever such accidents occur, a formal investigation is conducted and a report is submitted. The same process will be followed in this case as well,” he said.
