With 11 new cases today, Coronavirus patients number increase to 71 in Pune district

Pune/Pimpri, April 3, 2020: There is an increase 11 new Coronavirus positive patients in Pune district and total number in the district has increased to 71, informed Pune Divisional Commissioner Dr Deepak Mhaisekar.

The number of cases increased to 57 in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pune rural, while it has remained the same at 14 in Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). Till now 18 persons in Pune district have been cured and discharged from hospitals. Two patients have died due to Coronavirus in Pune.

According to Mhaisekar, in Pune divisions which includes Pune (71), Satara (3), Sangli (25), Kolhapur (2) and Solapur districts, the total number of positive patients has reached 101. Samples of 2018 persons were sent for testing and 1777 of them have tested negative, 101 are positive.

The officer further informed that till now 72.87 lakhs people have checked at their homes for any symptom of COVID19. At present officials have made arrangements for 12, 848 beds for quarantine at 88 locations in Pune division, while there are 2167 beds for isolation at 52 places.

As of now, 2301 confirmed cases and 56 deaths have been reported. 156 persons have been cured/discharged from the hospitals after recovery.
