Pune, 20th August 2026: A customer has lodged a formal complaint with the Hyatt Regency Pune after allegedly finding a worm in a vegetable dish served during a meal at the five-star hotel, raising concerns over food hygiene and quality standards.

According to the complaint, the incident occurred while the customer was dining at the hotel’s restaurant. During the meal, he noticed a worm in the vegetable dish served to him. He immediately approached the hotel administration and brought the matter to its attention.

The incident reportedly drew concern among other guests at the restaurant, particularly given the hotel’s reputation and the premium prices charged to customers.

The customer subsequently recorded the incident in the hotel’s official complaint register and sought an explanation from the management regarding the alleged lapse in food safety and hygiene.

The hotel management has not yet issued an official statement or explanation regarding the complaint. The matter has also raised questions about the food safety measures followed at premium hotels and whether further action will be taken by the authorities.

Citizens have called for strict enforcement of food safety and hygiene standards, stressing that such norms should apply equally to establishments regardless of their size, reputation or star rating.

This report is based on a complaint filed by the customer. The Hyatt Regency Pune management’s response, if received, will be incorporated into the report.
