Youth kidnapped, murdered in Koregaon Park over love affair

Pune – A 23-year-old youth was allegedly kidnapped and then killed due to his love affair in Koregaon Park. Pune city police have arrested two persons in this connection.

The deceased has been identified as Ram alias Gautam Sonwate, a resident of Tadiwala road near Pune railway station. The arrested persons are Akash Ohwal (22) and Anand alias Anil Reddy (23), both residents of Tadiwala road.

According to police, Sonwate had been missing from Tuesday morning. Later his body was found in Burning ghat area of Koregaon Park on Tuesday night.

Police officials said that Sonwate was having love affair with Ohwal’s sister which he disliked. Ohwal and his friend Reddy kidnapped Sonwate from Rajguru chowk on Tadiwala road and took him to  Koregaon Park and attacked him with stone and broken glass.

An FIR in this regard has been registered with Bund Garden police station.
