Pune/Satara, 5th December 2025: Showcasing the growing enthusiasm for military careers, the Southern Command, in close coordination with Recruiting Zone Pune, pulled off a highly successful Agniveer recruitment rally in Satara, attracting thousands of motivated aspirants from Maharashtra and Goa. Held from 15 to 30 November 2025 at the Police Parade Ground, the rally witnessed an impressive 85% turnout, marking one of the strongest participation rates in the current Agniveer intake cycle.

Close to 8,000 Candidates Report for Screening-
A total of 7,961 candidates turned up for various categories, reflecting consistent interest across the region. According to officials, each segment of the rally saw steady participation.

Turnout by category:
Agniveer General Duty: 6,067 candidates (84%)
Agniveer Technical: 1,690 candidates (93%) — highest turnout
Agniveer Clerk/Store Keeper Technical: 100 candidates (86%)
Agniveer Tradesmen (10th Pass): 77 candidates (79%)
Agniveer Tradesmen (8th Pass): 27 candidates (81%)

As part of the specialised selection process, a dedicated test for volunteers aspiring to join the elite PARA Regiment was conducted on 2 December 2025. Of the 112 candidates who reported, 44 qualified, securing their place in the next phase of evaluation.

Army officials highlighted that the rally was conducted with complete transparency and strict adherence to established selection standards. The well-coordinated efforts of the Southern Command and Recruiting Zone Pune, they said, ensured smooth execution throughout the two-week event.
