Zensar log wins at Corporate Carnival’s Chess competition
Pune, April 9, 2018: Omkar Patwardhan from Zensar Technologies took home Gold Medal in Chess competition by scoring the highest 6.5 points at the third edition of Corporate Carnival commenced from Saturday in the city. The Carnival is organized on weekends beginning from April 6 to April 22 at Chondhe Patil Sports Complex, Vishal Nagar, Pune.
Talented Chess player Miral Chevli from Dassault Systems after scoring 6 points bagged Silver Medal and Virendra Bhati from Randstand India won Bronze Medal with 5.5 points. The medalist had gone through a rigorous process of 7 rounds to win the medal.
In another match held under the category ‘Table Tennis Men’s Singles’ 64 teams from the carnival participated. In the Quarter Finals Arpit Srivastava, BNY Mellon got past Jay Kothari, Accenture 11-7, 13-11, 9-11, 6-11, 11-7. Arpit Gupta, BNY Mellon wins against Abhishek Parmar, Dassault Systemes 13-11, 11-6, 11-9. Vivek Kashyap, Accenture wins against Kamal Singh, Adient India 11-7, 11-8, 11-4. Vaibhav Dahibhate, Customs & Central Excise wins against Sudhanshu, Dassault Systemes 11-4, 11-7, 11-3.
Arpit Srivastava, Vivek Kashyap, Vaibhav Dahibhate and Arpit Gupta came out with the top-class performance and gave a tough competition to the opponents. Each of them tried to secure their position in the Semi Finals.
In another close match for the category ‘Table Tennis Men’s Doubles’ Arpit Gupta and Arpit Srivastava, BNY Mellon win against Karthik and Sandeep, Zensar Technologies 11-2, 11-6. Shailesh Deshpande & Abhishek Parmar, Dassault Systemes win against Priyang Vaidya & Chetan Singh, Asian Paints 11-13, 11-0, 11-3. Jay Kothari and Vivek Kashyap, Accenture get past Ashutosh and Hrishikesh , Allstate Solutions 11-5, 11-7. Harin Shah and Rounak Goyanka, Deutsche Bank win against Kamal Singh and Siddhant, Accenture 11-7, 11-4.
Semi Finalists who came through with their smashing performance are Harin Shah and Rounak Goyanka, Jay and Vivek, Arpit Gupta and Arpit Shrivastava, Shailesh and Abhishek. The Semi Finals tournament for the ‘Table Tennis Men’s Singles and Doubles category will be held on April 14.
In the Football 7s category all the participating teams were in phenomenal form. The four companies who could manage to mark their position for the Semi Finals league are BNY Mellon, Enpro Industries, Allstate Solutions, Deutsche Bank. Each team played 3 group stage matches to enter Semi Finals. The Semi Finals for the Football 7s will be held on April 22.
