Heavy vehicles banned from entering Pune, Mumbai from 5 pm to 10 pm
Pune – Today there will heavy returning traffic from hill stations, vacations destinations as well as from Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara districts towards Pune, Mumbai on Satara – Pune road.
As there are under construction bridges at various points on Satara- Pune road and there are no enough service roads to accommodate the traffic coming by three lanes, there are possibilities of traffic congestion.
Though Highway State Police (HSP) and local police are deployed in maximum numbers, still there are chances of traffic jams due to heavy vehicles breakdowns, accidents situations.
“To avoid this and maintain the traffic flow, HSP police and local police at various police stations on NH4 Satara- Pune road have planned to restrict heavy vehicles ( excluding essential commodities carriers) coming towards Pune from 5 pm to 10 pm. So all heavy vehicles avoid coming to Pune, Mumbai by NH4 during 5 pm to 10 pm”, said SP (Highway) Amol Tambe.
