Car Catches Fire On Pune-Mumbai Expressway, No Casualties Reported

Pune 20th August 2023: In yet another tragic incident reported on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway, five people travelling in the car had a narrow escape after a car they were travelling in caught fire and burnt into flames. The incident took place at around 3 am on Sunday in the jurisdiction of Lonavala City Police Station on the expressway. This resulted in the traffic jam on the expressway for some time.

However, the rescue teams including IRB and local police were immediately rushed to the spot and the situation was brought under control. The vehicle was later removed from the spot and the traffic movement was normalised. “The diesel operated car was travelling towards Bhimashankar in Pune from Mumbai with five passengers onboard when the incident took place. All the passengers are safe as they managed to get out of the car in time” said police.
