The annual New Delhi World Book Fair was held at Pragati Maidan, from January 9 to January 17 in the chilly cold weather. “Every year this fair is held in the month of February. We along with many other publishers were apprehensive about the move as we were not very sure about the impact it would have on the footfall due to the cold weather. We have been amazed by the phenomenally positive response of over one million visitors”, smiles Gulshan Dudani, MD, Gita Publishing House.

Gita Publishing House has experienced unprecedentedly brisk and healthy sales. “We had on display over 100 titles authored by Rev. Dada J.P. Vaswani. He is the Spiritual Head of the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Pune. Most of the books are on Self-Help, Self-Improvement and Self-Realisation. Many people who had bought books from us in previous years at the fair, returned to purchase many more books.  The author has gained popularity and recognition due to his lucid style of writing filled with enlightening anecdotes and practical suggestions”, says Dudani.

Librarians & Principals were very keen on purchasing Inspirational Story books. Youngsters showed interest in Motivational titles. People of all ages purchased books on Bhagavad Gita. The best sellers were, ‘Be in The Driver’s Seat’, ‘Burn Anger Before Anger Burns You’ and `The Bhagavad Gita: Song of Life’.

GPH executives had many fruitful meetings with publishers, printers, ecommerce websites, distributors etc.

This carnival for booklovers had 1,100 exhibitors from India and 30 participating countries.
