PMC approves home delivery of vegetables, sale at 68 places in Pune, check list here

Pune, March 26, 2020: With vegetable prices skyrocketing due to non-supply of adequate vegetables to the city, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has approved sale of fresh vegetables directly procured from farmers, at 68 places in Pune. There are 2 to 4 spots in every ward where people can buy vegetables.

PMC Commissioner Shekhar Gaikwad and Pune Mayor Muralidhar Mohol said that people can place orders about their requirements on mobile phone of agriculture groups who will buy fresh vegetables directly from farmers and then sell at the designated places.

“The vegetables will be sold at reasonable rates. People can either order for home delivery or buy vegetables from designated spots near their homes”, Gaikwad said.

Due to shortage, many vendors are selling potatoes, tomatoes, onion at Rs 60 per kg each. Also, most shops have run out food grains, chicken and eggs.
