The Mills : A hub of restaurants, office, interactive spaces in heart of Pune

Pune, April 15: Raja Bahadur International Limited formerly known as the Raja Bahadur Motilal Poona Mills Limited is developing it’s property near Pune Railway Station and calling it the Raja Bahadur City Centre (RBCC). ‘The Mills’, first phase of development under RBCC comprises of hospitality, commercial and event spaces. The Mills is spread across approximately 6 acres and had the development of about 1 Lac square feet of space.

 

This was informed by Shridhar Pittie, Managing Director, Raja Bahadur International Limited during a Press Conference held in the city today. Umang Pittie, Vice President of the Company was also present on the occasion.

 

Sharing his thoughts on this subject Umang Pittie said, “The first phase of development under this mega plan has been named as ‘The Mills’, where existing sheds of our textile mill have been appropriately converted into the hub of upmarket restaurants and commercial office spaces. As many as 6 plush theme restaurants including Botanica, Tathya, Millers, Cinco, Baobab and 2BHK are now ready to treat the taste buds of Puneites.”

 

Ample parking and a nicely designed function area to host large size events is one more important feature of ‘The Mills’, which has about 50,000 square feet each of hospitality and commercial space. We are in advanced stage of talks with HIVE, the national co working space operator for leasing out the commercial space”, he added.

 

 

Next phase of development is under planning.

 

The Company was promoted by the Pittie family, renowned entrepreneurs, around the end of 19th century and was incorporated as a Public Limited Company.

 

The Company was the first to introduce the concept of ready-made bedsets/pillowcases way back in 1960’s. It had a strong foothold in the sophisticated Scandinavian and European market.

 

The Company further diversified and was pioneer in the manufacturing of drawing office/reprographic equipment, mini drafters and high precision machine tools and accessories. The products of the Company are sold under the brand name “PITTIE”, which came to be accepted as a mark of quality by the public and private sectors, across the length and breadth of the country.

 

In the recent past RBIL forayed into real estate sector and within a very short span of time it earned a reputation for quality construction of high-end office space. RBIL was also given an award for quality and speed of construction by the Builders Association of India. The Company constructed “Raja-Shree Business Park” a prestigious IT office Building in Pune and had leased it to Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. It is also developing a prestigious residential project by the name “Pittie Kourtyard” in Kharadi.
