Puneites to get a chance to watch Kuchipudi dance form

Pune, April 15, 2019: Puneites are going to get a rare opportunity to watch Kuchipudi dance form in the city. A special event of a  book release ceremony along with Kuchipudi dance performance is organized by Purnima and Dinesh Raste  in association with Meghana Sabde, Founder- Director, Nritya Yatri Art Movement Foundation.

The event will take place on April 20, at Symbiosis Auditorium, Bhosalenagar, Range Hills, at 5.30 pm. The entry will be free and open to all.  Famous Dancer Deepika Reddy will present a traditional repertoire of Kuchipudi. She is a disciple of Kuchipudi Guru Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam. Reddy started her journey in the field of dance 47 years ago and she will be performing in Pune for the first time.

A book- ‘Chronicles of Raste Family of Mehunpura’, written by Shreeamey Phadnis will be released in the same event. Raste family has a great contribution to Maratha History. The book unfolds the journey of Raste family which was a simple farming family from Konkan. Rastes achieved reputation as an important feudal family in the Maratha and British period.
