100 gamblers arrested by Delhi Police, Rs 23.58 lakhs cash seized

          The team of Police Station RajouriGarden has arrested 100 high profile gamblers including one organizer, from thebasement of a house in Vishal Enclave, Rajouri Garden and recovered stake moneyof Rs.21,58,340/- (Rs.21.58 Lakhs), 7434 gambling chips amounting to Rs.1.83crores, 03 Walkie Talkies, 05 Hookas, 27 bootles imported scotch, 02calculators etc. from the spot.

 PREVIOUS INVOLVEMENTS OF ACCUSED PERSONS

          Previous involvements of all the 100 accused persons are being verified.

 

INFORMATION

          In order to keep check on the illegalactivities like ‘SATTA’/Gambling’, sources were deployed in the area toidentify and arrest the criminals involved in such crimes.  On the night intervening 05/06.11.2018, aninformation was received at Police Station Rajouri Garden that some persons areindulging in gambling in the basement of a house located in Vishal Enclave,Rajouri Garden.  This information wasshared with the senior officers and immediately a special team comprising of SIAjay, SI Manoj, SI Vikram, ASI Giri Raj, HC Vinod, HC Anil and Const. Mahender underthe leadership of Inspr. Sunil Sharma, SHO/Rajouri Garden and overallsupervision of Shri K.S.N. Subudhi, ACP/Rajouri Garden was formed to conduct araid and apprehend the criminals involved in this crime.  The team acted swiftly and conducted raid in thebasement of House No. A-23, Vishal Enclave, Rajouri Garden and arrested 100persons, including one organizer, indulged in gambling.  Stake cash moneyof Rs.21.58 Lakhs, 7434 gambling coins amounting to Rs.1.83 crores, 03 WalkieTalkies, 05 Hookas, 27 Bottles of imported scotch, 02 calculators, severalplaying cards, etc. were recovered from there.  Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.682/18 dated 06.11.2018u/s 3/4/5/9/55 Gambling Act has been registered and all the 100 accused persons,including one organizer, have been arrested.

          During sustained interrogation, itcame to fore that Vijender Kumar R/o M2K, Azadpur, Delhi was the organizer ofthis gambling racket.  Furtherinvestigation is in progress and efforts are being made to ascertain theirprevious involvements.  Staff involved ingood work is being rewarded suitably.
