Pune, 5th November 2024: The Oriental Watchman Publishing House (OWPH), part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s Southern Asia Division and one of India’s leading publishing houses, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. The centenary celebrations will be held from November 7 to 9 at the Salisbury Memorial Church in Salisbury Park, Pune, as announced by Dr. M. Wilson, General Manager of OWPH, during a press conference. He was joined by Production Manager Vilas Khandagale and Public Relations Officer for the Centenary Celebrations, Michael Waidande.

The first day of the three-day celebrations, November 7, will be open to the public. A grand book exhibition will commence at 9:30 a.m., followed by the inaugural ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Dr. Wilson will also honor key administrators and staff members of the organization for their outstanding contributions and service to society during the event.

Established in 1924 in Pune’s Salisbury Park, OWPH has long been a pioneer in publishing literature focused on health and spiritual well-being. Its publications have touched the lives of thousands across India. Salisbury Park itself is named in honor of Homer Russell Salisbury, an Adventist missionary dedicated to educating Indian youth, who tragically lost his life during World War I.

OWPH is renowned as one of India’s oldest and most respected publishing houses. It continues to publish the “Herald of Health,” one of the country’s oldest health magazines. Dr. Wilson highlighted that the publishing house has embraced modern technology and innovation while maintaining its core values throughout the years.
