If Canada Fails to Take Strict Action Against Hindu Temple Attackers, Protests Are Warned in Front of Canadian Embassy
New Delhi, 5th November 2024: Yesterday, the ‘Sikhs for Justice’ organization and Khalistani activists deliberately attacked a Hindu temple in Brampton, Canada. Instead of taking strict action against these violent attackers, the Canadian police have punished Hindu devotees. We strongly condemn this. There have been previous attacks on temples in Canada as well. We demand that the Canadian government take measures to prevent such incidents and take strict action against all the attackers. Otherwise, Hindu organizations will protest in front of the Canadian embassy in India to urge the Canadian government to act, as warned by Ramesh Shinde, National Spokesperson of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, who stated, “If the Canadian government fails to address these attacks decisively, we will have no choice but to raise our voices in protest.”
Despite knowing that the Indian High Commissioner was scheduled to visit the temple in Canada, the Canadian government did not take any concrete actions to ensure his safety or to prevent the attack. This raises the question of whether the Canadian government had tacit approval of this assault. Following the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the Canadian government has completely failed to prevent attacks on Hindus and temples in Canada. Therefore, we demand that the Indian government raise this issue at the international level and put pressure on the Canadian government to take action. Additionally, we urge the Indian government to take strict measures against any supporters of the ‘Sikhs for Justice’ organization in India.
