1027 students, citizens leave Pune for Jammu and Kashmir

Pune, May 20, 2020: After following up with the Jammu and Kashmir administration on behalf of the state government, District Collector Naval Kishore Ram permitted 1027 citizens and students to leave by a special train.
The district administration had sought permission from the concerned administration from time to time to allow these students and citizens from Jammu and Kashmir who were stranded in Maharashtra due to the lockdown to meet the conditions in their state.

 

After getting permission from there, these citizens were sent by special train. This included students and citizens from Pune district, Kolhapur, Solapur, Nandurbar, Ahmednagar, Bhiwandi, Raigad and other districts. Their seating was arranged following social distance. Earlier, necessary action was taken by these citizens like filling up the form and conducting health check-ups.

 

The work was planned by Pune City Tehsildar Tripti Kolte-Patil and Tehsildar Vivek Jadhav under the guidance of Deputy Collector and Coordinating Officer Nita Shinde.  Apart from helping the students and citizens, Sanjay Nahar of NGO Sarhad  provided them with food packets and drinking water.
