Pune, May 20, 2020: Soon after the Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri announced that domestic flights may resume from May 25, Pune Airport director said that they are ready for flight operations.  “The domestic flight operations are likely to resume from May 25th. We are committed to ensure a safe and hygienic passage for all our passengers. Regular cleaning and disinfection protocols have been implemented at the airport. However, the success of our efforts is largely dependent on adoption of safe physical distancing norms by our passengers”, Pune Airport Director Kuldeep Singh tweeted.

He appealed passengers to arrive at the airport between two to four hours before the departure time of your flight. “This will help us in avoiding congestion without compromising on security procedures. Please avoid visiting airport for receiving or seeing off your friends and family so that congestion on the kerb is minimized.

The Government of India has permitted all passengers to carry hand sanitizer bottles upto 350 ml size in hand baggage or on person. Sanitise your hands frequently as a preventive measure against infection. “Please wear appropriate face-mask and hand gloves at all times during your travel. The face mask may be removed momentarily only when requested by the security staff for identity verification. Please install Aarogya Setu app on your mobile.
However, it is not mandatory for children below 14.

We have deployed staff at the terminal building for thermal screening of the passengers before entry. The symptomatic passengers shall not be permitted. Please cooperate with our staff for expeditious travel. We are regularly sanitizing our trolleys.  However, in the interest of minimizing superficial contact, please avoid use of trolleys unless it is very much necessary. It is best to carry minimum luggage.

We have put physical distance markers/stickers at various queue locations. Please make best use of them at all times. All our retail and F&B outlets accept digital wallet payments. We encourage use of contact-less digital payments to avoid spread of disease”

The minister had earlier tweeted, “Domestic civil aviation operations will recommence in a calibrated manner from Monday 25th May 2020. All airports & air carriers are being informed to be ready for operations from 25th May. SOPs for passenger movement are also being separately issued by @MoCA_GoI.”
