103 COVID patients in Pune Cantonment, District Collector orders strict measures

Pune, 12 May 2020-  In view of the increasing number of COVID19 positive cases in the Pune Cantonment area, District Collector Ram said that measures should be taken in the cantonment area like in the adjoining Bhavani Peth area of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 103 in Pune Camp area, while in Bhavani Peth it is 511 (highest in Pune city).

 

Citizens of containment zones were also instructed to take precautionary measures to ensure that no one is able to leave or enter the area except for essential services within the stipulated period. To ensure that these residents have sufficient supplies, instructions have also been given to the concerned to make arrangements in a coordinated manner so that items like vegetables and milk will be available at the same place. Three days complete shutdown has been ordered in Camp area.

 

During the inspection of Pune Cantonment area, Major General Navneet Kumar, Station Commander of Pune Cantonment Brigadier Kuljit Singh, Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) Chief Executive Officer Amit Kumar, District Surgeon Dr Ashok Nandapurkar,  and other officials from Pune Cantonment, Pune Municipal Corporation and administration were present.
