Pune 12 January 2019: The 10X true helmet ride organized by Zehn X in association with Pune Traffic Police , Premier Group , Rotary Club of Pune Akurdi and Sancheti Hospital got an overwhelming response with more than 1500 participants .

The main aim of the rally was to create awareness about Helmets and Road Safety . 100 doctors from Sancheti Hospital participated in this ride.

The ride started from 6 different locations in Pune. The starting points were Season Mall, Magarpatta, Golibar Maidan, MG Road, Sanas Ground Swargate, DP Road Kothrud, Balewadi, Auto Cluster Chinchwad and converged at Pune Police parade ground Shivajinagar.

Pune Police Commissioner Dr. K. Venkatesham, DCP Traffic Tejaswi Satpute , CEO of ZehnX Chief Executive Officer Anuj Gupta , Dr. Parag Sancheti Chairman and Managing Director of Sancheti Hospital , ACP Nilima Jadhav, Assistant Police Commissioner Rajendra Sawant, Rotary Club Akurdi President Ganesh Jamgaonkar and other dignitaries were present on the occasion . The ride created awareness about ten different traffic violations .

Speaking on the occasion *DCP Tejaswi Satpute* said that there are ten different violations which can pose threat to our lives including drinking and driving , driving triple seat , not wearing helmet , seat belts , jumping signals , honking ,not possessing proper documents and license , PUC , over speeding amongst others. The ride was to create awareness about these. There are a lot of misunderstandings amongst the people about the helmet rules . The act is already in place and it has been implemented every year. We are just intensifying it . Last year out of the 253 road accident deaths in Pune 182 were of two wheeler riders. We need to create awareness to avoid this .

Dr Parag Sancheti Chairman and Managing Director Sancheti Hospital said that it is our duty to follow traffic rules and police have a big role to play in this. People still make statements which suggest there is no need for helmets in Pune also citing inconvenience that is caused . But more than the inconvenience , safety is of utmost importance .Every day about 25 patients come to our casualty out of which 7 to 8 are accident cases and 1-2 of these are serious head injuries. We need to curb these by using helmets . Accidents not only affect the patients but also their families. If an earning member meets with an accident it can send the entire family in disarray.

Anuj Gupta CEO Zehn X said that the main aim of this initiative was to create awareness about helmet use and we had undertaken such activity in Nashik before. Today we are happy with the overwhelming response from more than 1500 people. I am sure next year we can get a response of more than 5000 people. We will make sure we would make the initiative sustainable to have maximum impact .

Ganesh Jamgaonkar President Rotary Club of Pune Akurdi said that the resistance for use of helmet is surprising . Helmets are a must for our safety. The initiative undertaken by Zehn X and the passion in Anuj to continuously do such initiatives is worth praising .
