11-Year-Old Girl’s Sexual Abuse Case: Pune Police Arrest Her Grandfather, Detain Her Minor Brother

Pune, 20th March 2022: A day after Pune City Police registered an FIR in connection with the sexual abuse of an 11-year-old girl by her close family members, her grandfather and 14-year-old brother have been nabbed. Her father and maternal uncle are yet to be arrested.
The incident came to light when the girl told her counsellor after a session on ‘good touch, bad touch’.
Based on the complaint from the counsellor, an FIR was registered at Bundgarden police station on Friday. Police said that the victim’s family hails from Bihar. As per the complaint, her father had tried to rape her when they had gone to their native village in 2017. In Pune, her brother had raped her several times.
Assistant Police Inspector Savita Sapkale is further investigating the case.
