1147 new COVID cases in Pune city today, 587 discharged

Pune, July 8, 2020: In the last 24 hours, a total of 587 people were discharged from hospitals after being cured of COVID19 in Pune city today. 1147 new patients were detected while 19 patients died. Today swab samples of 3950 people were collected for COVID tests.

According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the total number of Coronavirus positive patients till date has reached 24168 out of which 14998 have been cured while 770 have died. There are still 8400 active patients undergoing treatment in various hospitals. They include 401 critical patients out of which 79 are on ventilator support.

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) said that 290 new Coronavirus Disease (COVID19) patients were reported in PCMC areas till 6.45 pm today. Also, 371 people got discharged from hospitals while five people died today. The report is for the last 24 hours.

According to PCMC, the total number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 5493 out of which 3509 have been cured while 77 have died. 1880 active patients are still undergoing treatment. There are 129 non-PCMC residents currently admitted in PCMC. Till now 34 non-PCMC residents have died while 250 have been cured.

Maharashtra reported 6,603 new COVID-19 cases and 198 deaths today, taking the total number of cases to 2,23,724 including 1,23,192 recoveries and 9,448 deaths. The number of active cases stands at 91,065.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 742416 across the country. Out of this, 456830 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 20642 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 264944 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
