Pune, July 8, 2020: “Private laboratories in Pune are instructed to submit the report of COVID-19 patients within 24 hours, or action could be taken against them,” said Pune Divisional Commissioner Dr Deepak Mhaisekar.

The number of complaints of delayed reports against many private laboratories is increasing. Some of the Laboratories are also sending samples to Mumbai for testing. Mhaisekar said that notices had been issued to three laboratories in Pune.

He also instructed private labs to submit the reports to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and District Health Officer for rural areas.

Under the chairmanship of the Divisional Commissioner, a review meeting was held with private laboratory operators regarding the Coronavirus swab testing in the city.

Mhaisekar stated, “All the lab operators have been ordered to send the result by 6 pm every day to the Deputy Director of Health. Data on RT-PCR regarding testing should be uploaded daily, and each laboratory should appoint a nodal officer to submit daily reports to the monitoring officer.”
