12 Trees Fall, Vehicles Damaged In Pune Due to Heavy Rains

Pune, 15th April 2023: Heavy rainfall caused chaos in various parts of Pune city on Saturday evening, resulting in the uprooting of twelve trees and damaging vehicles. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported in the incident. Firefighters immediately responded to the calls and cleared the traffic by cutting the branches using cutters.
The trees fell in Bibvewadi, Erandwana, Ganj Peth, Taljai slum, Kondhwa, Law College road, Lullanagar, Dhankawadi, Katraj, Manikbaug area on Sinhagad road. The sudden rainfall caused disruption to the traffic and incidents of falling trees in several areas. Four-wheelers and two-wheelers were damaged due to the falling branches and big trees.
A large tree on Pashan Road was uprooted by strong winds, while the old Pune-Mumbai highway in Wakdewadi (Maryai Gate area), Sahakarnagar, Station area near Wadia College, Tadiwala Road, and Yerwada area also saw large tree branches fall. Firefighters responded immediately and used cutters to clear the road and restore smooth traffic.
