Pune: Former BJP Corporator Vivek Yadav Among 8-10 Booked For Ruckus At Lashkar Police Station
Camp, 15th April 2023: Eight to ten people, including former Bharatiya Janata Party corporator Vivek Yadav, have been booked for causing disturbance at Lashkar police station on April 14 due to a dispute between two groups. Pune police have detained three people in connection with the case.
The accused in the case include Vivek Yadav (40), resident of Wanwadi, his brother Santosh Yadav of Lullanagar, Sagar Vairya (20), Pankaj Jagtap (3)5, resident of Kumbharbawadi, Camp, Sushil Yadav (35), and Shivaji alias Chhatya. Amit Narayan More (28), resident of Camp, filed a complaint about the incident.
On April 14, a procession was taken out from the Camp area on the occasion of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary. Amit More participated in the procession, which came to Bata Chowk, where Santosh Yadav, Sagar Vairya, and their companions attacked More’s friend around 11.30 pm. More and his friends went to Lashkar police station to file a complaint, where former corporator Vivek Yadav arrived with his companions.
According to More’s complaint, Yadav threatened him with a pistol and asked him to withdraw the complaint.
Vivek Yadav is also facing a case under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MOCCA). He is currently out on bail. On Friday night, Yadav beat up a person at the Lashkar police station premises. He has been also booked by police for obstructing a public servant from discharging official duty.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Smartana Patil and Senior Police Inspector Rajesh Tatkare reached the police station upon receiving information about the incident. Assistant Police Inspector Sheetal Jadhav is investigating the case.
