1200 players to be seen in action at 3rd National Finswimming Championships Pune 2023.

Pune, September 1, 2023: Approx 1200 players from 30 states will be seen in action at the 3rd National Finswimming Championships 2023 which will be organized by Underwater Sports Association of Maharashtra under aeiges of Underwater Federation of India to be held at Swimming Complex, Shree Shivchatrapati Kreeda Sankul, Mhalunge Balewadi, Pune from 3rd to 5th September 2023.

Speaking to reporters the Dr. Tapan Panigrahi, Secretary of Underwater Sports Federation of India and President of Underwater sports association of Maharashtra, Mr.Achinta Pandit treasurer of Underwater sports Federation of India,” – This is a proud moment for Maharashtra Association as the National Championship is organized second time in Pune. We are thankful to Venky’s and Bridgestone for sponsoring this event”

The Championship will have 114 event which will be held in 8 various age categories. The event will be played under 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, senior and master 30, 40, 50, 55 age groups.

Players from 30 states which include Maharashtra, Assam, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Madhyapradesh, Odisha, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Gujarat, Bihar, Uttarpradesh, Tripura , Manipur , J&K, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan Lakshadweep and Goa will be seen in action,

Dr. Tapan Panigrahi, Secretary General Underwater sports association of Maharashtra added “This championship will also helpful for upcoming players. Our Federation aim is to developed new version of competitve swimming that is Finswimming which is greatly helpful for regular swimmers also.

Last year gold medalist Sabhyasachi Panigrahi from Maharashtra, Divya Satija from Haryana, are some of the top swimmers who will be seen in action at the championship on 3rd to 5th September 2023.
