16 Bright Engineering Students of Sinhgad Institutes from SAE Kondhwa bagged the QUAD TORC 2019 National Championship.

17 Sep 2019, Pune : Team Arihant of Sinhgad Academy Of Engineering, Kondhwa, one of the prestigious engineering colleges of Sinhgad Group of Institutes were declared National Champions for the QAD TORC – The Off Road Championship 2019 which was held at Garage 1 Race Track in District Bijnor of Uttar Pradesh. The five day competitions held from 6th September to 10th September 2019 organized by ISNEE, Indian Society of New Era Engineers had teams participating from 49 engineering colleges across the country.

 

This year the tracks were different and much trickier than the previous years. The obstacles and hard environmental conditions were mental as well as physical tests for all the participants.
The most grueling was the last endurance test which went on for over 4 hours, a test of driving abilities and engineering skills. Overcoming all challenges Team Arihant of Sinhgad Academy of Engineers emerged victorious. Being light in weight and good in dynamic performance, the Team won many dynamic activities. Team Arihant became Overall Champions in the competition and not only won many trophies and cash wards but also won many hearts.

 

As Overall Champions they won the trophy and a cash award of Rs. 1,20,000 (Rupees One Lakh Twenty thousand). They won cash award of Rs. 35,000 for being First in Endurance and also won Rs. 15,000 each for being First in Maneuverability and First in Suspension Test; totally winning Rs.1,85,000 in cash awards itself. They also bagged awards for Best Driver, Second in Design and CAE and Second in Cost Evaluation.

 

The 16 member team was headed by Mohit Kamble the Team Captain. He was also Steering and Suspension Head. The others were Girish Rathi, Team Manager, Shrirang Suryavanshi, Vice-Captain & Transmission Head, Krushna Navale, CAE Head; Mukesh Chaudhari, Technical Head; Vishwajeet Mahind, Manufacturing Head; Sahil Chavan, Brakes Head &Driver; Pranav Gite, Braking; Nikhil Jagtap, Steering & Suspension; Siddhi Bamb, Braking; Muzaffar Shaikh, Transmission; Rahebar Khan ,Steering & Suspension; Siddhesh Tilekar, Fabrication; Pratap Khedkar, Steering & Suspension; Prasad Renake and Vaibhav Agavile for Fabrication.
Siddhi Bamb is the only female member of the team. Siddhi was in charge of braking and actively participated in all the events. Siddhi is also academically very bright; she is the topper in Mechanical Engineering in her college.
Dr. A.P.Kalmegh was the Faculty Advisor for the team.

 

Mohit Kamble Captain of the team expressed deep gratitude to Founder President Prof. M N Navale Sir and Management of Sinhgad Institutes for their unstinting support and guidance at all times which inspires the students to give their best performance and emerge victorious in all competitions be it national or global.
