161 new Coronavirus patients in Pune district take total tally to 2461

Pune, May 7, 2020: As per the District Health Officer (DHO) report, with 161 new COVID19 positive patients in last 24 hours (9 pm Wednesday to 9 pm Thursday), the total number of cases has reached 2461 since March 9. A total of 134 of them have died while 762 have been discharged till now.

Out of 2461 patients in Pune district, 2155 are from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area, 154 from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), 65 from Pune Cantonment Board, 21 from Khadki Cantonment, 2 from Dehu Road Cantonment and 64 from Pune rural areas.

State Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that today 1,362 COVID cases were reported in Maharashtra today and the total number of cases in the state is now at 18,120. Also, 207 patients have been discharged today which takes the tally of discharged patients to 3301. With 43 deaths today, the death toll has increased to 694.

Today, 43 corona infected patients died in the state. Of the deaths, 24 died in Mumbai, seven in Pune, five in Vasai Virar, two in Solapur, one in Akola, one in Palghar and one in Aurangabad. Apart from this, one person from Manipur and one person from Bihar have died in Mumbai. The total number of death has reached 694 in the state.

Of the deaths today, 24 were men and 19 were women. Of the 43 deaths today, 25 are in the age group of 60 years and above, while 14 patients are in the age group of 40 to 59 years. 4 are under 40 years of age. Out of 43 patients, 29 (67 per cent) have been diagnosed with high-risk diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease.

According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), 692 new positive cases have been reported in Mumbai today, taking the total number of positive cases to 11219. 25 deaths have been reported today, the death toll is at 437. Also, 148 patients were discharged taking the total number of patients cured till now to 2435.

The overall tally in the country has touched 52,952, including 1783 deaths. While there are 35902 active cases at present, as many as 15266 patients have recovered so far.
